The Interfaith Coalition for the Homeless (ICH) began in 1985 with a
group of interfaith clergy and laity seeking to answer the call of those in
need in our community. ICH originated the independent Tucson Shalom
House (now called New Beginnings), a transitional program for homeless moms
with small children.
Now, 20 years later, ICH is composed of
more than 30 congregations and
700 fantastic volunteers. Our partnerships with the Tucson Planning
Council for the Homeless (TPCH), Open Inn, Youth On Their Own, and many more
have added to our ability to provide services to homeless and at-risk
children, youth and families. We focus on connecting people to
opportunities to serve, coming along side other faith-based and community
partners to fill gaps and create changes that better the lives of our
brothers and sisters in need.
We are committed to continuing to meet the needs of our population, while
enhancing the lives of those who donate their time, talents and treasures to
our programs.
